前期と中期：メロビング王朝時代のいくつかの書体を紹介する講座です。 ６世紀からのアンシャル、ハーフ・アンシャル体を勉強してから、 「忘れ去られた時代」のリュックセューの小文字体を研究します。 当時の飾り文字の豊富なスタイルはミステリアスな形態であり、 現在のアーティストのために新しい世界を開くものです。

後期では、8世紀のフランク国王キルデリク3世（Childeric III)の宮殿で使用されていた事務書体を学びます。　次にメロビング王朝に遡上って、6世紀のパリ国王キルデベルト1世（Childebert I)の時代に入ります。　当時流行していた優雅な事務書体を使います。　ローマ帝国からの伝統的なパピルスでクラス課題を仕上げます。　メロヴィング王朝の独特な美術アートを学びながら飾り文字を現代化して作品を施します。

使用：古典の文章、グリーティングカード、印章、オブジェのデザイン。

This course introduces several hands of the Merovingian period.　 After learning different forms of uncials and half uncials, the focus will shift to the Luxeuil minuscule and its technique of ligatures. The abundant styles of decorated initials from this forgotten era have a mysterious appeal and open a new world of artistic expression for today's designers.

Applications: classical texts, greeting cards, design of seals and collectors' objects.
