The first lesson of any given course on historical hands covers the general equipment and materials used by traditional calligraphers and deals with the groundwork exercises, which will enable the student to establish such basics as posture, correct hand position, pen angle and warm-up strokes. Following lessons focus on the historical hand itself.

All the courses taught at the MG School are designed to provide
guidance to the student in order to achieve an elegant, personal and beautiful
style of written expression. The unique approach in teaching gives
the opportunity to acquire not only artistic and technical
skills but also to gain better understanding of the elements which animate
the spirit of European artist calligraphers and their cultural traditions.
